The vibrant town of Tavira in the south of Portugal was host to an exhibition in May 2024, it showcased my work in a Collage Makers exhibition. I displayd four pieces from my project 'Quinta Botanica.' This unique project draws inspiration from the rich natural surroundings of my home, where I have lived for the last two years.
My Artistic Journey
My path as an artist has always been intertwined with nature. Surrounded by an abundance of agaves, succulents, and the striking red soil of the region, I have found my voice and vision blossoming.
My project 'Quinta Botanica' reflects on my deep connection to the land and its vibrant beauty. Each collage showcases not only the flora of this Mediterranean haven but also the traditional Portuguese tiles and unique architectural elements that characterize the region.
For me, the collage represents an outlet for synergy between nature and art. The intricate layering of materials mirrors the complexities of the natural world, and the process of creating a collage is akin to gardeningāeach piece has its unique place and purpose, contributing to a harmonious whole.
